A swastika was spraypainted backward on a pink Ojai peace sign in front of a house on North Ventura Street in Ojai sometime in the night between Friday, Feb. 19, and the morning of Saturday, Feb. 20. An obscenity and racial epithet were spraypainted on the opposite side of the sign.

Nordhoff High vaccination site has openings for Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays

If you are 65 and older or a healthcare worker, you can sign up for a COVID-19 vaccination. Several vaccine appointments were opened this week for Nordhoff High School — 1401 Maricopa Highway, Ojai — and other Ventura County sites.
Vaccines are being given at Nordhoff High School on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for at least the next six weeks.

A flashing mobile sign off of Highway 33 on Nye Road in Casitas Springs on Thursday warns residents to lock their houses and vehicles.

Judge tells Ventura city lawyers to slow down on water suit

In a secret vote on Sept. 9, 2019, the Ventura City Council voted unanimously to sue thousands of Ojai Valley and Ventura residents. The Ojai Valley News filed a Public Records Act request with the city of Ventura to find out when and how the councilmembers voted on the lawsuit. When the Ventura City Council refused to release the information, the Ojai Valley News filed a complaint with the Ventura County District Attorney's Office to get the information, which was finally released on Jan. 27, 2020.
